Drive the Vibe was founded in 2022 and is based in Ceglie Messapica, Puglia. The idea came from my love for Italy and the desire to explore the beautiful landscapes of Puglia on a Vespa.
My goal is to offer you a unique experience, away from large tourist groups, and to personally introduce you to the region in an authentic and relaxed way.

Ciao! My name is Mika, I’m Dutch, and I have a deep passion for Italy. In 2022, I decided to follow my dream and moved to Italy, all the way to the south of Puglia.
I love sharing my passion for this region and showing you what makes Italy so special. That’s why I organize private Vespa tours in Puglia as a Dutch-born local guide, where you don’t just explore the landscapes, but also take part in authentic local experiences to truly feel the Italian culture in all its beauty.
Why Puglia?
Puglia has become a second home for me. My parents run a bed & wellness retreat called Hartje Puglia, located in the heart of the countryside between Ceglie Messapica and Ostuni.
Through my many visits to this region, I fell in love with its beauty, mild climate, unique culture, incredible food, and excellent wines.
What makes Puglia truly special is that it is still untouched by mass tourism. Here you’ll find a relaxed lifestyle and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere. There is so much to discover from wine tastings and cooking workshops to exploring charming villages and breathtaking beaches.
When did your passion for Italy begin?
Italy has always been my favourite holiday destination. As a child, we spent many summers there. I still remember playing football with other kids on campsites and trying to learn the Italian national anthem.
As I got older, I wanted to speak the language, order my own pizza and coffee, and get to know the local people better. When my parents moved to Puglia, I started visiting Italy even more often.
Eventually, I realised I didn’t just want to experience Italy as a tourist — I wanted to live it like a local.
How did Drive the Vibe start?
I realised that I enjoyed the Italian lifestyle the most when I was able to share that experience with others. How could I make sure that others would experience Italy in the same way I did?That’s when the idea for Drive the Vibe came at the perfect moment. Puglia is a stunning region, and the Vespa is the ideal way to explore it — fast, flexible, and full of adventure.
From there, my Vespa tours were born, allowing me to show you the most beautiful places in Puglia in a truly authentic way.

The tour starts and ends in the town of Ceglie Messapica. Street: Via Padre Golizia Bernardo, 32. Free parking is available.
Scooter rent
To use a Vespa during the tour, we kindly ask you to sign a document with the rental terms and conditions, including the rules regarding possible damage to the scooter.
The Vespas include third-party insurance, which covers damage to others, but not to your own scooter. You can choose an additional insurance option (€80 per scooter), which covers damage to your own Vespa up to €1,000 with no additional costs in case of an incident.
Important Information
- Cancellation: You can cancel up to 7 days before the rental day. After this period, the full rental amount will be charged.
- Age & driving licence: The driver must be 18 years or older and hold a valid driving licence. The Vespas are 125cc scooters, and a category A and/or B driving licence is sufficient to ride them in Italy.
- Driving experience: It is important that drivers already have scooter or motorcycle experience, or feel confident and comfortable riding a scooter independently.
